Overview

Super Ace is a JILI slot, co-published with TaDa Gaming, and it’s the game that turned a card table into the most played slot in the Philippines. It arrived in August 2020 and has since grown a whole family around it, with Super Ace Deluxe, Super Ace 2, Super Ace Joker, Super Ace Scratch and a faster Super Ace SPEED all built on the same deck. The format is five reels and four rows giving 1,024 ways to win, every symbol is a playing card, and winning cards are cleared away so new ones can drop into the gap.

That last part is called a cascade. One deal can keep paying for as long as the cards falling in keep making new wins, and a counter beside the reels climbs with every clear.

JILI or TaDa?

JILI Games and TaDa Gaming co-published Super Ace, so you will often see both studios associated with it. JILI list it in their own catalog alongside the rest of the family, and TaDa run the game client you’ll actually load, which is why the loading screen says TaDa. Neither studio is a brand of the other, however seeing either name on a lobby tile means you’ve found the same game.

The design

The design is simple but crisp, with a felt wooden table rail and a deck stacked behind each reel. The cards are drawn large and classically designed, so a Queen reads as a Queen at a glance. Gold cards glow nicely against all that green, and your eye goes straight to them. It’s built portrait first, so on a mobile it fills the screen properly and on a desktop it sits in a tall column with the table blurred out either side.

How a win works

Three or more matching cards, touching from left to right pay out. There are no paylines to follow, so the cards only have to land on adjacent reels rather than in any particular row shape. This is where 1,024 ways derives from.

Then the winners are cleared, the cards above drop down, and fresh ones fall in from the top. If that produces another win the whole thing repeats, and a single deal can run through several clears before it settles.

The card symbols

Aces are the best card and the four suit symbols are the cheapest, with the picture cards in between.

Eight symbols, but only six prices, as the spade and the heart pay the same and so do the diamond and the club. Nothing pays from two of a kind here, so three is always the minimum.

So the whole strip is only ten times apart from top to bottom, whereas a game like Mad Ducks runs fifty times apart on the same measure. Five Aces at 2.5x is a small return for the best hand in the game, so the card you land isn’t as important as how many times the deal keeps clearing.

Golden cards and jokers

Golden cards are ordinary cards in a gold frame, and they turn up on reels 2, 3 and 4 only. A golden card pays exactly what its plain version pays, so its value is in what happens next: once it’s been cleared away it flips over and comes back as a joker “wild”.

There are two jokers and they’re very different animals. The Little Joker turns wild in its own square and nowhere else. The Big Joker turns wild and then reaches out, converting one to four more squares across reels 2 to 5 at random, skipping only scatters and other jokers. Both substitute for every card on the table.

So a golden card is really a two-stage symbol, paying once as itself and then again as a wild on the following clear. Big Joker can be game changers, and if they land deep into a cascade can hold a dying deal together for another round or two.

The combo multiplier

The counter above the reels runs x1, x2, x3, x5 and climbs one step with every clear inside the same deal. It resets the moment a deal produces nothing.

Getting from x1 to x2 doubles the deal, but the last step jumps from x3 straight to x5, so a fourth clear pays nearly twice as a third. That escalation helps carry the flat paytable, since the cards themselves are only ten times apart.

Free spins

Three or more scatters award ten free rounds. The scatter is a gold coin, it can land anywhere, and is the only symbol a joker won’t substitute.

Everything plays the same in the round with one lucrative change: the multiplier ladder doubles to x2, x4, x6 and x10. The counter starts at x2 rather than x1, so even a single win in the round pays double what it would in the base game, and a four-clear deal reaches x10 instead of x5.

Three more scatters inside the round add more rounds on top, and the ladder carries on from where it was. There’s no bonus buy button and no ante bet toggle, so the only route in is to keep dealing and wait.

Check the RTP

Super Ace ships in three builds, at 97%, 96.5% and 96%. TaDa headline the 97% one, and their own game sheet breaks it into 65.24% from the base game and 31.77% from the free spins, which adds back to the 97% figure.

The build you actually get is chosen by the casino, not by the game, so check the number on the game’s own rules screen first. The same goes for the stake range, which sits at 0.2 to 200 in fifteen steps on the build we played and is printed differently on almost every source you’ll find, because it’s an operator setting too.

The studio also publish a hit frequency of 23.60%, which works out at a paying deal roughly every four or five. That’s the drip the low card prices are there to provide, and it’s why the game feels busy even when the multiplier never climbs.

Where to play it

Where the game sits

• Cascading wins with a climbing multiplier: the Sweet Bonanza and Sugar Rush lineage, but Super Ace resets its counter on every dead deal rather than holding it across a round.

• Card symbols instead of themed ones: borrowed from video poker and baccarat, which is why the game feels familiar the moment it loads even if you’ve never played a slot.

• A wild that creates more wilds: the Big Joker’s reach across four squares is closer to a Pragmatic multiplier drop than to a standard substituting wild.

• Tone: built for a phone rather than a desktop, and everything from the portrait layout to the oversized cards follows from that, but works well on either device, with everything very clear to see.
